South Walese, January 1858

London Illustrated News, January 23rd 1858
THE SOUTH WALES STRIKE.

The colliers of the Aberdare district still hold out on strike in large numbers, although some have come in. The Monmouthshire colliers have followed the example of the Glamorganshire men, and are on strike in large numbers.

The Aberdare colliers continue to meet together and talk very largely. The strike has caused disturbance of the coal shipping trade from the ports of Cardiff and Swansea.
